Making the Most of Astrophotography Hashtags

When it comes to using astrophotography hashtags, or any photography hashtags for that matter, there are a couple of simple things to keep in mind before you hit publish.

The first is to keep it relevant. Look for the most relevant hashtags to include with your photos. When people type in or click hashtags, they’re looking for that type of image.

Don’t feel like you need to hit the cap of hashtags for whatever social media platform you’re publishing on. It’s better to go for relevance than just spam out hashtags indiscriminately.

Lastly, think of including the location from where you made your shots. People will be interested in seeing where astrophotography was done, as it has an effect on how the skies look and the relation of the earth to the stars.

If you do other types of photography and would like to promote it too, be sure to take a look at our article on hashtags for all types of photography.

Good luck with your astrophotography, and I hope these hashtags help promote your work.
