Some Things to Know About Using River Photography Hashtags

As with using any hashtags, there are a few things to keep in mind.

Be sure to stay within the limit of hashtags that you’re able to use when publishing on whatever platform you’re using. For example, Instagram limits the number of hashtags you can post with your image to 15 with the image and 15 in the comments for a total of 30. Just be sure to check how many are allowed on the social media platform you’re posting to so that your image gets posted and you don’t get flagged for spam or something like that.

Don’t feel like you need to use the maximum number of hashtags either; just use the ones that are actually relevant to the photo you’re publishing.

Also, it should help to include the location and river name in the river hashtags you use. Many people search for and click on locations when they’re looking for photos on social media, and including location-based hashtags can help you reach these people.

If you have other types of photography you’d like to promote using hashtags aside from river photography, you may be interested in this article on general photography hashtags.

Good luck in promoting your photography, and I hope these river photography hashtags help.
